The Easter holidays are already feeling extremely long-winded, so take advantage of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend to to check out some of the amazing Easter events for kids taking place. We’ve combed the country for the best places to spend time this Easter, and here are our top picks.
Spring Festival @ Slieve Aughty
Spring is firmly in the air at Slieve Aughty, a family-run eco retreat set on 17 acres of farmland in East Galway. Easter weekend promises several kid-frienloy delights, including horse and pony rides, walks in the Enchanted Forest and a specially created Easter Treasure Trail. Fota House & Gardens
Fota House & Gardens is celebrating their 10th annual Easter Egg Trail this year and have come up trumps with something truly spectacular. The gardens will be transformed into a tribute to Peter Rabbit, who is celebrating his 150th birthday this year. After you embark on an Easter Egg adventure, finish off the day at Flopsy’s Garden Party where music, garden games and food stalls will keep spirits high. Barnardos Easter Egg Hunt
The Cadbury Easter Hunt for Barnardos will take place again this year in Dublin’s Merrion Square. Due to the phenomenal success of last year’s event they will be bringing the Easter fun to families over two days – Friday 25th March and Saturday 26th March. This is a fantastic day out, and all proceeds go to a wonderful charity. The hunt costs €20 per family of four / €5 per extra individual. www.barnardos.ie
Make An Egg In The Chocolate Garden
Learn all about chocolate making, cocoa growing, how Easter eggs and other chocolate products are made, and have a go at making and decorating your own Easter Egg. The golden ticket to this adventure also allows kids to try all kinds of yummy chocolate at the Chocolate Garden. Easter At Tayto Park
Tayto Park has a host of amazing activities on offer this weekend, from egg hunts and face painting to magic shows and animal feedings, it is worth hopping in the car for a day out.
