Introduction
Chocolate mug cakes with vanilla topping. Use the microwave with this very quick and easy dessert. Created by Catherine Fulvio for Whirlpool
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- 3 tbsp caster sugar
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp rapeseed oil
- ¼ tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 tbsp chocolate drops
- ½ tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 tbsp icing sugar
- 2 tbsp mascarpone
- 1 orange, zest
- 2 small mugs or cups
FOR THE TOPPING:
Method
- 1. Place the plain flour, caster sugar and coco powder into a medium bowl. Mix in the egg, milk and rapeseed oil and vanilla bean paste with a whisk.
- 2. Divide between the 2 small mugs or cups. Push 1 tbsp of chocolate drops into each mug.
- 3. To cook, microwave in the mug for 3 minutes on high (700watts microwave) but check after 2 and half minutes. Allow to cool for 2 minutes before serving it with the topping. Repeat the cooking process for the other chocolate mug.
- 4. Tip: Serve with a ginger and orange segments.
