Saba to open brand new location on Baggot Street

Award winning Thai & Vietnamese restaurant, Saba, is proud to announce the opening of a second restaurant at 22 Baggot Street Upper, Dublin 2 on March 7th.  This is an expansion ten years in the making. The new location offers owner Paul Cadden and head chef Taweesak Trakoolwattana (Tao) the opportunity to take the much-loved Saba brand to a new customer base in a vibrant Dublin district.

Customers can rest assured that the philosophy remains the same. Authentic recipes using the best of Thai, Vietnamese and Irish ingredients have all been carefully planned by Tao. The team of 30, includes 7 of the original team whom have worked in the Clarendon Street restaurant for the last ten years. All the team have worked or trained in Saba, therefore guaranteeing the same great Saba experience diners in Dublin have come to know and love.

“We are really excited about this new launch. Expansion was always on the cards, we have just been waiting for the right time and location” said owner Paul Cadden. “Baggot Street is a thriving area for businesses and socialising, with great restaurants and bars. We have some exciting new additions to the menu and it’s an opportunity to introduce Saba to a new audience.”

Guests will recognise the similar style of restaurant design to Clarendon Street. Saba Baggot Street has 75 seats with a mix of leather, dark timber, tile and brass finishes, all framed with a beautiful glass frontage.  New additions to the menu include Sea Salt Chilli Squid, Prawn Pomelo Mieng Kam; a tiger prawn dish with pomelo, Pan fried John Dory with Thai Herbs, Grilled Tiger Prawn salad with organic Irish seaweed and edamame beans and Thit Nuong Va Duo; chargrilled pork served with Vietnamese kimchi and a tamarind chilli dipping sauce.

To cater for an increasingly health-conscious customer base, Saba works closely with nutritionist Erika Doolin in the preparation of all menus, which feature Paleo, Saba Light and Saba Slim dishes, along with all calories highlighted. Each and every meal is low GI to help keep that fuller feeling for longer. While gluten free options are available and clearly marked, all meals can also be made gluten-free.
