5 Old-School Ice-Creams We Adore
Fri Jun 20 2014
Listen. Gelato, and sorbets and frozen yoghurt is all well and good, but when it comes to ice pops, we are strictly old school. You can take your fancy Italian ices and get lost, because if it’s between a yuzu-flavoured frozen cream and a Freaky Foot, well the Foot is going to win out every time. Here’s our favourites.
LOOP THE LOOP
The classic chocolate versus fruit adventure. As kids we felt sophisticated eating these. Now we buy them in bulk and savage them before 12pm.
THE MINT FEAST
Not to be confused by the Chocolate (read, lesser) Feast, the Mint Feast is a multi-sensory journey to amazingness. We love these, and when they disappeared briefly a few years ago, nearly launched a revolution.
THE TANGLE TWISTER
There is no better way to introduce kiddies to the joys of ice pops from the 1980s than through the Tangle Twister. It offers flavour sensations on so many levels, anyone who hates them is WRONG WRONG WRONG.
THE WIBBLY WOBBLY WONDER
You love or hate a WWW; it’s the jelly that divides people, we find. But, once you chomp through that lime jelly, to the amazing banana and strawberry ice-cream below, well it was an adventure worth having.
THE BRUNCH
There isn’t much we don’t love about the Brunch. It’s faintly savoury, biscuity exterior gives way to super sweet strawberry and vanilla ice-cream. Oh sorry, have we drooled all over your screen?
