Romance is still alive …Supervalu expected to sell over 400,000 roses this Valentines Weekend
Supervalu are offering some of the best value and exceptional quality on a range of products in time for Valentine’s Day, with roses expected to be the most popular with shoppers.
Romance is in the air and nothing says ‘I love you’ more than roses. In the lead up to Valentines, Supervalu expects to sell a whopping 400,000 roses with red being the firm favorite. Stores nationwide are expected to sell over 250,000 red roses, 105,000 pink roses and 45,000 white and yellow roses.
SuperValu Category manager, Gillian McGowan said “It is great to see that we are still a nation of romantics and the tradition of giving roses to mark the occasion of Valentines still remains a demonstration of love for all age groups. We take pride in our range and our team strive to ensure we have a bouquet to meet all budgets. This will be a really busy weekend for our retailers but one that creates a great atmosphere in store.”
Ireland’s leading retailer is also offering the best value and quality to romantics across Ireland with a single stem rose costing €1.99, a dozen roses costing just €3.99, larger bouquets with a mix of roses and lilies at €12.99 and a bouquet of premium Freedom Roses (containing 10 gorgeous roses) costing just €50.
