Christmas is a great time to have some fun in the kitchen. Get the kids involved with some family friendly bakes.
Our Cookie Christmas Tree is a serious showstopper and will wow everyone around the Christmas table. Use different sized star cookie cutters to bake these edible Christmas trees which make lovely gifts or delicious festive table centerpieces. There are a few chilling and drying stages, so plan to start early in the day, or they can be made over two days. This recipe is egg-free. This recipe makes 1-2 trees depending on the size.
Thumbprint Cookies – Super easy cookies that are fun to make and tasty to eat! Again these make great edible gifts.
It’s time to bring out the cookie cutters! Make these gorgeous Linzer cookies which have a lovely nutty flavour from the toasted almonds and are then sandwiched with raspberry jam. They’re also delicious when made with toasted hazelnuts and the jam is swapped for apricot or red current jam.
These banana snowmen and penguins are super cute and super yummy! 1 banana will make 3 snowmen or 2 penguins.
Whether the wonderful (dreaded!) Elf on the Shelf leaves this as a gift or you get the kids involved as a simple holiday activity, this is a tasty little snack mix with a festive theme that kids (and adults!) will love. There really aren’t any rules when concocting your elf munch, use two kinds of cereal or three (though, for the sake of your teeth and sugar levels, perhaps only use one that’s very highly sugared). Don’t like M&Ms? Use Smarties! The possibilities are endless! Our mix was made with Cheerios and Curiously Cinnamon cereal, pretzels and M&Ms.
We haven’t provided weight amounts as you can choose to make as little or much munch as you like! You really can’t go wrong.
Crunchy nuts, soft marshmallows, creamy chocolate, sweet ice-cream. This dessert has it all! And the best part? It’s so easy to make and can be prepared in advance.
If you don’t fancy baking but want to have some fun get the kids involved with creating their own hot chocolate board.
