If you are putting together a magnificent Christmas feast and you are unsure of where to start, start with the main dish itself. Traditionally Christmas day includes turkey and ham but why not try something like a rib of beef or if you are going veggie try our butternut squash recipes.

Once you have the main dish decided on then start thinking of what side dishes you would like to serve. Then start planning your desserts or why not try one of our showstopping cakes or bakes here.

Here are our top 5 main dishes….

Maryanne Dalton’s Roast Turkey with a Sage & Onion Stuffing.

One of the tricks to ensure your turkey doesn’t dry out is place a layer of stock into the roasting pan before it goes into the oven, this way the meat partly steams and retains moisture. And, once your foils is tightly crimped sealed, you shouldn’t need to repeatedly remove from the oven to baste so it takes away at least that cause of stress on the big day.

Nothing beats a beautiful ham, glistening with a sticky glaze and the fragrant smell of cloves. And let’s not forget the leftover sambos the next day.

If you are not a big fan of turkey or ham why not try this delicious Beef Rib Roast served with Carol’s Stock Market Beef Bone Broth Gravy.

This recipe makes a simple vegetable look like a centre piece! Flavoured with honey, thyme and a hint of spices.

This dish makes a delicious vegetarian centre piece but is equally as good asa side dish. The sweet and salty flavours in the stuffing are bright, the quinoa and butternut hearty and filling.
