Friday Focus: URBN Cakes

If you are anything like us, you are looking at this cake and thinking “how do I get that in my belly, NOW“? RELAX! We’ll tell you! This, and all the ones below are the brainchildren of confection maestro Eric of URBN Cakes. This guy knows quality, and has fine tuned a menu of pâtisserie goodness that can be ordered online and delivered to your door. WE KNOW, RIGHT?!

Lemon Meringue: tangy lemon cream, confit citrus zest, creme d’amande and toasted Italian meringue.

 

So, what’s the difference between them and other bakeries? According to Eric, one thing is clear. “Our products have a new look, new flavour combinations, and they are modern with depths of flavour, as the main-stream bakeries have a couple of staff members to make there products, at urbn cakes it’s just me, in a household kitchen!”

Tartlet Stanley: clementine mousse, caramel flavoured chocolate and passion fruit ganache, creme d’amande in a pastry case with mango compote and citrus zest.

So what’s on offer? Their menu draws on the French classics with a modern twist. Eric is constantly experimenting with new flavour combinations, creating new and exciting delights for the world to sample. They don’t believe in making cakes to sit there and just look pretty, pumped with buckets of sugar and preservatives, lacking the depth of flavour that we have become accustomed too!
