Bake Fest Galway 2014 is back for the second year running. The two day national baking festival is set to return to Leisureland Galway on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October and promises to be even bigger and better.
Bake Fest 2014 welcomes the return of celebrity chefs Lilly Higgins and Edward Hayden to our demo kitchen along with the wonderful Catherine Leyden from TV3 and Odlums, RTE’s Ali Honour, Sally McKenna author of “Extreme Greens” and publisher of “McKenna’s Guide” and Nessa Robin’s author of “Apron Strings” and columnist and Stuart O’Keeffe TV personality/Author. This year will see a “Live Bake Off” from the “The Great Irish Bake off Contestants 2014”.

Bake Fest is a family centred event with a strong focus on re-installing traditions and time spent together when baking. These are values festival demonstrator Catherine Leyden also holds clear, “home baking has been my passion all my life – I first learned to bake from my grandmother and indeed my mother and this love of baking have stayed with me. For almost 40 years I have been the face of Odlums – encouraging and helping everyone to bake. Thankfully there is a big comeback recently to home baking and no doubt this will be clearly evident at Bake Fest Galway this October”.
There is lots to do for all the family. There will be spectacular cakes displayed in the Competition area. Get all the baking tips and tricks you need to know from the best in the business including some of Ireland’s leading baking brands. Some of the country’s top celebrity chefs will be hard at work in the Goodall’s Kitchen Theatre. You can even book a demonstration with one of Ireland’s leading Sugarcraft experts in the Sugarcraft Academy. The Little Chefs Kitchen will allow the little ones to explore their creative side in the kitchen.
Competition Area
Bake Fest 2014 is a not for profit organisation and all proceeds will go to Irelands national meningitis support and awareness charity ACT for Meningitis.
