Ahoy Salty Bouy
Tue Jul 21 2020
There’s a new truck in town – The Salty Buoy – the brand new seafood focused food truck by Niall Sabongi (Klaw & Sustainable Seafood Ireland). From 1st August 2020, The Salty Buoy will be based on Avon Ri in Blessington every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm, and at Baste BBQ at 39 Clanbrassil Street, Dublin 8 on Wednesdays from 5pm to 8pm – but is actively seeking new and interesting city centre locations to park up and serve through the week.
The Salty Buoy, a very practical mobile kitchen retrofitted into a suitably quirky Citroën H van, will offer up a varied menu of Sabongi’s signature Lobster Rolls, shucked Oysters, Crab, fresh fried fish with daily specials, depending on the freshest catch and the weather – creamy Chowder, zingy PoKē bowls, chargrilled smoky Prawns, Classic Fish and Chips, fresh Dublin bay prawns etc. A new dish is The Steamer, an Irish take on the classic American seafood boil – fun, tasty and perfect for al fresco enjoyment.
Niall Sabongi said “We’re really excited to take the best of Irish seafood on the road. We’ve a lovely location to start from, but if you know of a street corner, car park or pier that would like to host us regularly, we’d love to hear about it! There’s a slap up seafood supper on me for the best suggestions – email Ahoy@SaltyBuoy.ie”
